One of the U.K.’s most captivating and compelling artists, Little Simz will curate the 30th edition of the Meltdown festival this summer.
Little Simz will be the youngest artist to curate the country’s longest-running artist-curated music festival.
The English-Nigerian rapper will curate eleven days of live music and events at the Southbank Centre in London, which kick off on June 12. Thirty year-old Simz, whose real name Simbiatu Ajikawo, will also perform at the festival.
The first artists on the Meltdown festival lineup will be announced in the spring.
“I’m super excited to be the 2025 Meltdown festival curator! …Meltdown 2025 the Simz way is going to be epic. I’ll see you there,” said Little Simz.
“Little Simz’ ability to forge new genre-defying ideas and her ambition to inspire the next generation of creators aligns with what the Southbank Centre’s artistic programme and vision stands for,” said Jane Beese, head of contemporary music at the Southbank Centre.
She joins the likes of David Bowie, Patti Smith and Ornette Coleman, who have served as curators in previous years.
