Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has topped Billboard Hot 100 for a 17th total week. The song now marks her longest career leader on the chart.
The Christmas classic drew 48 million streams and 28.7 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 11,000 (downloads and physical singles combined) in the United States during the tracking week ending on December 19, according to Luminate.
Since making its debut on top of the chart in December 2019, the song has reached No. 1 in all six following holiday seasons.
Originally released on Carey’s album Merry Christmas in November 1994, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” marked her 19th Hot 100 No. 1.
The song’s sales surged with the December 6 release of 7-inch and 12-inch vinyl and cassette and CD singles, marking its 30th anniversary.
“All I Want for Christmas” also leads Billboard‘s Streaming Songs chart for a record-breaking 21st total week and the Digital Song Sales chart.
Two more Christmas carols – Brenda Lee‘s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” at No. 2 and Wham!‘s “Last Christmas” at No. 3 round out the top three of the latest Billboard Hot 100.
With “All I Want for Christmas” ruling the chart dated December 28, Carey also extended the record for her songs spending the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 to 96.
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data.
