Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
- My name is Scot Apathy – I’m the lead singer for Zero-G Racetrack, and I curate the ‘Floating Around the Racetrack’ Spotify/YouTube playlist. It’s not a pay for play list; I personally choose what’s on it based on what I hear. True story.
- For Z-GR! Radio, I pull from tracks/artists on the playlist (current and archived) and include newer finds that might not be on the list yet (but likely will be).
- The artists included come from myriad genres, geographical locations and stage of growth. I stay away from mainstream established artists, but I will play artists that I’ve followed as they grow. I love it when emerging artists gain traction, and I like to celebrate it.
- I include a cover song each week, and highly recommend checking out MetroVeteran’s (Ruel Smith) ‘Synthwave Covers’ Spotify playlist. There are 900+ great tracks on that list.
- I post a page like this each week to help you find out more about the artists you heard on this week’s show and to make it easy to do so.

Berlin producer Ralphy Grey’s been a regular here on Z-GR! Radio ever since he opened our first ever episode – he’s known for cool collaborations, and this time he’s bringing a joint with Dutch vocalist Felicia Catharina – ‘Make it Last Forever ‘ is our opener this week.

Fulvio Colasanto / Young Empress - Jump
Aztec Records has a great stable of artists and producers which results in a fairly constant stream of collaborations with some of the best synthpop artists out there. Fulvio Colasanto is a favorite at Z-GR! Radio – he’s worked with multiple Z-GR! Radio artists including Bunny X , LAU and I Am Boleyn – next up is a joint with Young Empress, the outstanding electronic duo of RebeccaRobin Davies (unrelated) out of the UK, who are making their third appearance on the show. This is ‘Jump’ and you’re hearing it here on NEWHD Rock Evolution.

annsofi & me - Heart of Glass
’Heart of Glass’ is by Annsofi & Me, a duo of Norway’s Annasofi and JP Paulsen. Anna Sofi reached 3rd place on the X-Factor and is an ambassador for Norway’s biggest anti-bullying campaign which I think is awesome. They were on Episode 5, and I’ve been meaning to get them back on the show, so I did.
Gukko, Citrine - As Long I Live I'll Do What You Want (The Fuck I Want)
The Citrine / Gukko joint ‘As Long As I Live I’ll do What I Want’ opened our week 5 show and justifiably so – the song is awesome and is one of my favorite tracks that I’ve ever had on the show. The song really gives you no idea of just how banging it is until it hits the back 3rd, when it pulls its teeth and takes a bite.

Magnetic Skies - I Opened Up My Eyes
European Synth-Pop / Electronic Rock artist Magnetic Eyes have been at it since 2019 – they have a 2023 release, but I reached back to 2022 for ‘I Opened My Eyes’. I always like to hear rock tracks that lean into a foundation of analog synth sounds, and these guys do it really well.

Entitled Sons - Break
The Entitled Sons are 4 brothers from Somerset, UK – The cool story here is that they’re dragging their Dad around to play bass (badly). Of course, he has to drive them around in return, but it seems to be a fair tradeoff and they sound really really great.
Crumbsnatchers / Flight Attendant - Saturday
I got an email from Nashville’s Crumbsnatcher’s publicist telling me how great their latest record ‘Petsway’ is and I’m sure glad that they did. Their sound is cool and catchy and ‘Saturday’, a joint with fellow Nashvillians ‘Flight Attendant’ got stuck in my head and I mean that in the best way. The entire record is great, so check it out, and don’t sleep on Flight Attendant’s latest ‘Under the Powerlines’, because it’s also pretty awesome.

Feminist Baby - A Little Bit of Everything
Nova Scotia’s Feminist Baby is the husband-wife duo of Liz and Randy Hamilton, and they are a lot of fun – their songs have clever lyrics and attitude. Definitely worth a walk through their catalog, and while you’re at it, Liz Hamilton’s got a bunch of solo tracks worth checking out.

RayBack - This Is Not My Favorite Song
Episode 16’s Rayback AKA Actor and composer Mundy Rieu is from the Canary Islands, has a great sound, and his latest ‘This Is Not My Favorite Song’ is super catchy. He’s been releasing tracks lately and seems to be posting to his socials recently, so grab a follow to keep up to date.
Pennan Brae - The Love That I Got
Vancouver’s Pennan Brae is an interesting cat – he’s worked with some really cool people and made a couple of really cool films and recorded a couple of really cool soundtrack albums. ‘The Love That I Got’ is the lead off on 2023’s 2 Below 0 which was remastered recently and sounds great.

Estella Dawn - Detached
I’m a sucker for good wordsmithing, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Oceanside native Estella Dawn is among the best I’ve come across – it seems that every release is better than the last, ‘Detached’ is pure wrath of a woman scorned, and let me tell you, I’m glad I’m not the target of her ire.

Infected Mushroom is anything but ‘emerging’, but when I heard their cover of Allanah Myles’ ‘Black Velvet’, the enduring ode to Elvis Presley, I knew it was going on the show. Ninet Taybet supplies the outstanding vocal on this week’s cover.
