Week 39 - February 07, 2025
EPISODE 39 of Z-GR! Radio
Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
- My name is Scot Apathy – I’m the lead singer for Zero-G Racetrack, and I curate the ‘Floating Around the Racetrack’ Spotify/YouTube playlist. It’s not a pay for play list; I personally choose what’s on it based on what I hear. True story.
- For Z-GR! Radio, I pull from tracks/artists on the playlist (current and archived) and include newer finds that might not be on the list yet (but likely will be).
- The artists included come from myriad genres, geographical locations and stage of growth. I stay away from mainstream established artists, but I will play artists that I’ve followed as they grow. I love it when emerging artists gain traction, and I like to celebrate it.
- I include a cover song each week, and highly recommend checking out MetroVeteran’s (Ruel Smith) ‘Synthwave Covers’ Spotify playlist. There are 900+ great tracks on that list.
- I post a page like this each week to help you find out more about the artists you heard on this week’s show and to make it easy to do so.
- I’m working with NEWHD on a Featured Artist program, and I’ll note those artists as they appear.
Have fun with the list below, enjoy the artists/music and…
PLEASE share the page out on your Socials!

Z-GR! Radio Episode 39 Lineup
Stereo In Solo - Flowers on the Moon (Fused Trafalmadore Remix)
Thierry Noritop is one half of the band Stereo which dates all the way back to 1982. The band resurrected for an album in 2015, and Stereo in Solo is Noritop’s solo project, hence the name and ‘Flowers on the Moon’ was first released in 2018. The Trafalmadore Remix by Fused is awesome and opens the show this week.

Strange Tales - Love Me Again
Sweden’s Strange Tales is back on the show for a third time with ‘Love Me Again’. There’s a reason that I like them so much – they really have nailed the modern classic Pop sound – Strange Tales has a long history that’s too extensive to go into detail about here, but I will say that it is awesome to see a band who came together in their youth carry it forward over the decades.
Echo Vector X - Splinter
Echo Vector X is a duo of former roommates, who interestingly are on two different continents – Erik Nielson is in Oxford, England and James McDonough is in Rhode Island. I had them on Episode 25 with ‘Breathe’, and this track, Splinter’, a deep cut off of the same album, ups the vintage analogue synth vibe in a big way.

Volker Milch - Emotion (Mix 2024)
Volker Milch is a German artist who makes really cool electro darkwave tracks – what caught my ear on ‘Emotion’ is the baseline guitar riff that drives the chorus. He uses samples of English speaking women in a lot of his his stuff to good effect, and I definitely suggest spinning through a bunch of his tracks, as I didn’t hear a bad one among them.
Slumming With the Saints - Swear to God
I had ‘Swear to God’ by Philadelphia’s Pat Adams, AKA ‘Slumming with the Saints’ way back on Episode 11 and to be honest, I forgot how awesome the track is. Once I heard it again, I figured the best thing to do is to put it back in your ears.
Cece Vee - Play God
I stumbled over South African Cece Vee’s track ‘Bite’ back in October’ and it’s been in the queue for the show for several weeks now – along the way, however, another track of hers, ‘Play God’, managed to earworm a space in my musical psyche and you know what that means.
Metrolight - Satellite Station - 10th & 13th Mix
I first came across Metrolight via their ‘Copyright Strike‘ EP – they have a great version of the T.Rex classic ‘20th Century Boy’ – but after spending some time with their library, ‘Satellite Station’ caught my ear and the 10th &13th Mix of the track became a favorite.
Mother's Talk / Corserine - The Spice Felange - Corserine Mix
Mother’s Talk, AKA guitarist S.J. Mathos, has a really cool vintage vibe that manages to sound modern. He put out a really cool re-imagining of Pink Floyd’s Animals back in 2018, as well as a cover of Prince’s ‘Sign O’ the Times’ that’s also well worth a listen. The Corsaire Remix of 2021’s ‘The Spice Felange’ morphs the track from rock to dance without losing any power and it’s really, really great.

Zero-G Racetrack - I Remember
We really don’t focus on ballads at Zero-G Racetrack, but ‘I Remember’ is about as close as we‘ve come. Not every relationship works out, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t great things about each one, so this song reflects on the idea that every relationship, regardless of how it ends, leaves you with positives that should be remembered moving forward.

Dream Prescription - Start Over Again
Episode 4 opener Dream Prescription is back for a third time on the show, with a third track selection – this time it’s their 2023 single release ‘Start Over Again’. Clearly, I’m a fan and I know that they play out in NYC, so keep an eye and then your ears open for a chance to see them play.

Moguai / Tim Hox / Iggy - Blue Monday
This week’s cover is the frequently re-imagined New Order classic ‘Blue Monday’. I’ve heard tens if not hundreds of covers of this track, but when I heard DJ Maguai’s take I knew from the jump that ths version was different. Maguai brings in Tim Hox and Iggy for the assist – they keep it short and very, very sweet.
